Mila Filipović is a third-year student at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts. In addition to the faculty, she is active in non-governmental organizations that deal with improving social problems and helping young people and women. As she says, out of everything she does, music fulfills her the most.
„"Music has always been a part of my life. I graduated from high school, I play violin and piano. I am currently studying solo singing and sing in the choir of the Church of Saint Sava, and I also attended a singing workshop with Bilje Krstić," says Mila.
The choir of the Church of Saint Sava was formed in 2018, and since then it has successfully performed in numerous competitions. Performances in Belarus at the wonderful Philharmonic in Minsk, Banja Luka and the region, as well as the first prize in Negotin at the Mokranjec days, are just part of the joint association, work and effort that we can all be proud of.
As an integral part of the weekly liturgy, the Choir of the Church of St. Sava is active at all important events celebrated in the Church of St. Sava. It follows and complements spiritual programs, festivals, promotions of great writers, television broadcasts, and makes them more beautiful with its melodies.
„"The choir actively works on the program and rehearses three times a week to ensure that everything is performed at the highest level and presented in the best possible light. In addition, there are constant choir duties and performances of the sacred liturgy that we all enjoy.".
This year, the choir will perform new compositions at the Easter concert, composed only for the Choir of St. Sava Temple. Along with the concert that will be held in the Temple, midnight and morning liturgies will be sung to welcome the holiday in a magnificent way.
„"Preparations are still in progress, but we are doing really well, in addition to singing at rehearsals, there is a very nice atmosphere between the people and that contributes a lot to the common sound of the choir itself, the nice harmony in people's relationships is a big plus for the overall sound and performance," adds Mila with a smile.
After Easter, the choir continues its work. A large number of performances will follow, and the first in a series of concerts in the Temple will be celebrated on Vidovdan, to which we invite you together and look forward to socializing and singing together.
