A reward that preserves the idea of giving

The award for philanthropy is named after Miroslav Majkl Đorđević, the founder and first lifetime president of the Studenica Foundation.

It was established to recognize individuals whose work has a positive and long-term impact on the community and to encourage new generations to engage in philanthropy.

The idea of the award is not only to highlight an individual donation, but continuity, values, reputation and real contribution to society.

Process

From nomination to recognition

The process is organized so that the candidate is presented through concrete contribution, results and continuity of philanthropic activity.

A candidate is proposed and his or her philanthropic contribution is justified.

The Foundation reviews received nominations and compliance with the criteria.

Tamara Grujić

Tamara Grujic

Winner of the 2025 Philanthropy Award. She is recognized for her many years of humanitarian work through the projects "Labour Action" and "With Tamara in Action", the renovation of homes, schools and other spaces of importance for the community.

Why was she awarded?

Tamara Grujić was recognized for her continuity of humanitarian work and assistance that translates into concrete changes in the living conditions of people and families who need support.

Through the projects "Work Action" and "With Tamara in Action", her work includes the restoration of homes, schools and spaces important for local communities, with direct connection of donors, partners and people who receive help.

Aleks Mačeski

Alex Macesky

The first winner of the Award, a businessman of Serbian origin from the United States of America, with many years of humanitarian and philanthropic work focused on the Serbian community in the diaspora and Serbia. Special recognition that year went to the Diaspora Program of RTS.

Why was he awarded?

Alex Maceski was singled out as the first recipient of the award due to his long-term humanitarian and philanthropic engagement with the Serbian community in the United States of America and Serbia.

The award highlights the sustainability of such engagement and the idea that individual success can translate into support for the wider community. In the same cycle, special recognition was awarded to the RTS Diaspora Program.

Award symbol

A sculpture designed by an alumni of the Foundation

The visual identity of the award is connected with the sculpture of the author Bogdan Đukanović, a former scholarship holder of the Studenica Foundation.

Thus, the award itself connects several generations of the Foundation: founders and philanthropists, scholarship holders, alumni and people who continue the culture of giving today.
