Our scholar Marija Stankovi\u0107 is a member of the Association for Preventive Pediatrics of Serbia (UPPS). She points out that she learned a lot about rare diseases thanks to her involvement in this organization. She had the opportunity to participate in the organization of several humanitarian actions.
\n\u201e"The first and biggest action was the New Year humanitarian action "We are all Santa Claus". Over 30 entrepreneurs and schools across Serbia responded to our campaign. Well-known clinics and shopping centers responded. 126 packets were collected, which were distributed to children with developmental disabilities and children in the care home. In order to put a smile on the little ones' faces in addition to the packets, I also organized animators who handed them to them and spent the day with them."\u201c<\/div>\n
\u201e"Over 160 works were received from all over Serbia and over 16,000 dinars were collected for little Dorothea, who has to go to Turkey for an operation. Through the art competition, whose participation cost 100 dinars, we as an association made a small contribution to the treatment of the girl."\u201c<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
After that, Marija took part in the implementation of the humanitarian art competition "Paint the world with colorful colors, draw a smile for the little heroes".<\/p>\n

\u201e"Humanitarian actions show how much love there is in us, they are actions that leave a big mark on me, engraved on my heart, and carry a flood of feelings, both beautiful and less beautiful. As a medical student, I am still not competent to help someone in such a way with the knowledge I have acquired so far, so I try to help as much as I can through humanitarian work."\u201c<\/p>\n

\n\u201e"The aim of the series is for medical students to hear more case reports. In the time of the pandemic, when everyone lacks that contact with the patient, I think this is one of the better ways to hear something that we cannot read in a book, and it will surely mean something to us."\u201c

\nAt the 9th UPPS congress in Sokobanja, Marija Stankovi\u0107 will present her first scientific paper, "Histochemical analysis of the microvasculature of the human palatine tonsil" under the mentorship of professor Marko Jovic.
